For those just starting out running, heading down to your local parkrun can be a great way to get involved in the sport. The events are held every Saturday morning across the UK, offering everyone a chance to run a timed 5K loop around a local park.
Parkrun can offer new runners support and advice from more experienced members of the running community whilst also offering a sense of community to those just starting out. As more new runners start out, the question of what the best shoes to start out in are.
The best running shoe for someone varies depending on their gait, so we do recommend getting a GAIT analysis in one of our stores before choosing your running shoes to make sure you have the best experience possible.
Brooks Ghost
Brooks are the official sponsor of Parkrun and you can see why. They have been one of the biggest names in running for years. Their signature shoe is the Brooks Ghost, a great choice for a runner with a neutral gait. They are a perfect all-rounder shoe that is suitable for any distance from 5K at Parkrun all the way up to a marathon.
Now on their 16th generation, the newest Ghost offers Brooks DNA Loft V2 Nitrogen injected foam that offers great energy return as you run. It now features an enhanced upper, with breathable mesh designed to stretch but keep your feet secure.

The Brooks Adrenaline GTS is a very similar shoe to the Brooks Ghost, with one major difference. Whilst the Ghost is designed for a runner with a neutral gait, the Adrenaline GTS is built for those who need support from their running shoes, hence the name GTS or 'Go To Support'.
Now on the 23rd generation, the Adrenaline is a favourite amongst staff and customers at Moti, being one of the best sellers in our range. The Adrenaline GTS typically comes with a 12mm midsole drop, designed to lighten the load on your lower legs and ankles as you run.
