🔵 What our team thinks

This review is based on an experience with the Brooks Hyperion Max 2 Mens Road Running Shoes

The Brooks Hyperion Max 2 is designed for tempo & faster runs and is one of the speedier plated shoes in the Brooks range with a stated 6mm drop. The look of the shoe says ‘fast’ and it’s a midway point between an ultra-cushioned cruiser (like the Glycerin Max) and a full-on race shoe (like the Hyperion Elite 4 PB or Hyperion Elite).

First impressions were of a comfortable and supportive shoe. It's equally adept at many paces and despite looking like it won’t handle slower speeds; it felt cushioned and comfortable at warm-up pace. The upper is the most noticeable aspect for me and is very breathable and screams quality. The tongue is elasticated and built into the insole which looks strange, but works very well.

As a neutral shoe, this felt very stable and supportive when you pick the pace up and the rocker deign pushes you forward onto your toes and edges you to go faster. For me, the Hyperion Max 2 has a Goldilocks level of cushioning, not too firm and not too soft. Soft enough to cruise, but firm enough for pacier, tempo or interval sessions. As you would expect from Brooks another quality option.
