This review is based on an experience with the Brooks Ghost 17 Mens Road Running Shoes
A great update on the Ghost 16s. A now more versatile running trainer. The Ghost 16 is a heel to toe running, but with the increase in forefoot cushioning on the Ghost 17 this can now be used for more varied runs.
5k runs are much more comfortable with the increase in forefoot cushioning and for 10k running. You still have plenty of cushioning in the heel for longer runs. The Ghost 17 is nice and stable for a cushioned none support trainer.
The Ghost 17 is true to size and pretty generous in width. I will be using these as my daily running trainers for my longer runs and for my shorter 5k runs. They are slightly heavier than I would like for 5k runs, but they give you the option to run lots of different distances than just a 5k trainer. The grip is also pretty good on the road, on footpaths and my runs on the taff trail.
Like I said earlier, a great update to the Brooks Ghost series and a great daily/workhorse running trainer.
Pros- Great daily runner
- Stable cushioned/ neutral trainer
- Good grip
- Good value for the money
- Comfortable cushioning and responsive feel
- Better offset/ heel to toe 10mm
- Slightly heavier than I would like
- Quite firm for a half marathon trainer
